Job Title: Workshop Manager

Responsible for: Machinery and Equipment Service Management

Work in conjunction with: HODs, Managers and Supervisors

Section/Unite: Operations

Background:

Overall Purpose Of Job :

1 - Workshop(s) management.

2 - Preventive maintenance of vehicles, generators, engines, farm machinery and equipment.

3 - Identify and order seasonal and protective parts

4 - Documentation and follow up service schedules

5 - Train and coach service teams and operators

6 - Manage and control health and safety standards in the workshop and related areas

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 - Day to day management of the workshop(s) and technical staff including shifts, overtime etc.

2 - Plan and implement preventative maintenance programs to meet manufacturers’ guidelines for the farm vehicles, generators, engines, machinery and equipment.

3 - Identify and order spare parts to ensure smooth operation of farm machinery, vehicles and equipment, including liaison with suppliers and contractors.

4 - Manage documentation of machinery hours, mileage and service schedules to meet maintenance budget - Report consumptions of parts, lubricants and consumables - Prepare annual maintenance budget and monitor expenses.

5 - Carry out technical training and coach workshop staff to carry out their duties professionally.

6 - Ensure basic safety measures are in place, develop safety policies and continuous improvement of safety standards.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Minimum Experience, Skills & Knowledge :

1 - Min 5 years of farm machinery service/workshop management.

2 - Previous experience of fodder harvesting machinery.

3 - Good knowledge of occupational health requirements.

4 - Good communication skills.

5 - Good in report writing and generation.
