Course description:
This course is designed to help the participants to develop basic knowledge in Remote Sensing, how to interpret and use data information acquired by satellite and air ground sensors. The participant will gain understanding of remote Sensing concepts and applications using Arc GIS.
Outlines:
- Concepts and definitions of remote sensing and the electromagnetic spectrum.- Basic concepts and types of aerial photographs.- Digital Image processing, pre-processing, enhancement of images, transformations and image classification.- GIS software: Components; Functions; Applications.- Remote sensing applications in: Mining Geology, Hydrology, land cover, Mapping, engineering and environment.
Who should attend?
Geologist, geoscientists, engineers and all people involved in study of earth and its resources who seek to familiarize them self with this technology and to integrate their knowledge and career with remote sensing.
